Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how EzFluent (“EzFluent”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the EzFluent mobile application (the “App”). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and basic profile information. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the identifiers those services share with us (such as name and email) to create your account. You can also use the App as a guest, in which case a device-scoped anonymous identifier is used instead of an account.
Learning content you create
To provide the service, we store the words, grammar points, topic decks, notes and practice history you add, along with your chosen language pair (your mother tongue and the language you are learning) and your progress levels. This data is associated with your account so it can sync across your devices.
Photos and camera (scanning)
When you use the scan feature, the App accesses your camera or photo library to let you capture or select an image. Text recognition (OCR) runs on your device. Only the extracted text — not the raw image — is sent to our servers to resolve meanings and generate exercises. We do not retain your photos.
Usage, diagnostics and device data
We collect app usage events, crash reports and basic device information (such as device model, operating system version, language and a device/advertising identifier) to keep the App reliable and to improve it.
2. How we use your information
- To provide core features — resolving words and grammar, generating and grading exercises, and syncing your progress.
- To personalize content to your selected language pair and proficiency.
- To send push notifications you have enabled (for example practice reminders). You can turn these off at any time.
- To diagnose crashes, measure performance and improve the App.
- To display advertising and, where required, to request your consent for personalized ads.
- To detect abuse and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. AI processing
EzFluent uses third-party AI services (including Google Gemini) to resolve word and grammar meanings, generate example sentences and create practice exercises. The text you add or scan may be sent to these providers for processing. We do not use this content to identify you, and we ask our providers not to use it to train their models beyond what is necessary to return a result. Do not submit sensitive personal information through these features.
4. Advertising
The App may show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may use a device advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. In regions that require it (such as the EEA and UK), we present a consent prompt so you can choose between personalized and non-personalized ads. You can reset or limit ad personalization in your device settings at any time. Learn more at Google's advertising policy.
5. Services we rely on
We share limited data with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf:
- Google Firebase — authentication, data storage, messaging (push notifications), crash reporting (Crashlytics) and analytics.
- Google AdMob — advertising.
- Google Gemini — AI language processing.
- Our own backend service — stores your account and learning data to power sync and shared catalogs.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
We keep your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. Diagnostic and log data is kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access & deletion — you may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
- Notifications — manage or disable push notifications in the App's settings or your device settings.
- Ad personalization — adjust or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.
- Depending on your location (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port or restrict processing of your data.
8. Children's privacy
EzFluent is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify you in the App.
